10 Ways to be a more relaxed woman

10 Ways to be a more relaxed woman

As women facing the challenges of day-to-day life, being stressed has become our normal. We work, try to take care of ourselves, take care of our family whilst growing our businesses, and when we turn to social media, all we see are individuals living picture-esque lives and compare our lives to theirs feeling inadequate.

If you have experienced this, here are ten strategies you can implement to develop a relaxed lifestyle.

1. Drop the Guilt

Ladies, the first step towards a happier life is dropping the guilt. You aren’t perfect – no one is – and you don’t need to apologise. When you realise this life becomes much more beautiful and a lot less stressed as we start letting go of unrealistic expectations.

2. Balancing Work and Play

As women, we tend to become workaholics and let our work splash over into our personal lives. When we do this, relaxation becomes an impossibility. We recommend letting work stay at the office, and home life remain at the house. What boundaries can you implement? Do you turn off your phone at a certain time? Do you need to write a list before you finish for the day so you know where to start the following day? What will help you feel less stressed when you finish work?

3. Avoid Buildup

Do you let things build up throughout the week, only to take care of those issues on Sunday night? Millions of women around the globe fall into this pattern and create unneeded anxiety in their lives. Here is a list of recommendations we have to create a relaxed lifestyle:

  • Clean as you go – Sounds Simple, if you follow this rule you will have less overwhelm and less to clean at the end of the week.
  • Do the top 3 things that need to be done straight away each day this stops procrastination and have a feeling of achievement
  • Outsource the things that you don’t like doing or aren’t your jam.

4. Devote Time to Things That Matter

Women, being the natural healers they are, tend to tackle multiple challenges at once. If you want to reduce your stress and anxiety, double-down your efforts on the areas that truly matter and disregard the rest. Although this may feel unnatural, it will help immensely!

5. Compassion Heals All

Being caring and loving when people make mistakes is something to behold. As women, our ability to love and nurture is unfathomable and awe-inspiring. Let that natural ability shine, and leave criticism and judgement at bay.

6. Consistency

When we’re trying to develop a habit – getting in shape, learning a new skill, etc. – we tend to overwhelm ourselves. While these are worthy goals, devoting 15-minutes per day, every day, is better than 5 hours once a month. Be the tortoise, not the hare!

7. Minimalism

It is time to get rid of the clutter? Why not have a spring clean and take time out to get rid of items that you haven’t used in the last year. You can even minimalise your friend’s list, commitments and obligations that are taking up your time but are not fulfilling.

8. Do Things You Love

Do you have a hobby or interest that you can’t stop thinking about? You could be in the middle of an Excel spreadsheet, but your mind is elsewhere. If you have this burning desire in your heart, devote your free time to it.

9. Love Your Body

Although this sounds easier said than done, it’s essential. Loving your body is the first step towards a carefree and relaxed lifestyle. Who cares if you have cellulite or stretch marks? Millions of women also have those issues. Think about how blessed you are to have a body that allows you to walk on the earth, hands that allow you to create, arms that allow you to hug your loved ones (you get the gist). Remember we only have one body, so why not love it!

10. Ask for Help

As strong and bold women, we know how powerful and effective we can be. But there comes a time where we need to seek counsel from others for support. Knowing when to ask for a helping hand, and being brave enough to accept assistance, is imperative.

What is the Mumpreneur Movement about?

What is the Mumpreneur Movement about?

Many have asked me what is the Mumpreneur Movement about?

I always respond with it was created to support women to do life, motherhood and business differently.

It sounds pretty doesn’t it, but what does it really mean?

For me it means that I was so sick and tired of seeing fluffy content focused on this that didn’t really matter, content that eluded that I wasn’t pretty, fit and wrinkle-free enough, that I must be failing because my business wasn’t automated, making millions of dollars; of have hundreds and thousands of followers.

I also felt that there was such a disconnect between what a mum really is and how it’s portrayed in today’s society, especially on social media.

Just take a scroll on Instagram you can see thousands of influencer mums looking stylish and put together as do their children. Their house looks immaculate and they seem to have a perfect life.

Though it’s not real, yes some of it is but we don’t get to see behind the scenes, you know the real stuff like trying to juggle being a mum and being a boss whilst never having enough energy to make love to your partner (or with yourself, I don’t’ judge). That you can’t always take a perfect selfie, and yes it’s normal for kids to argue and fight amongst themselves as it is for us to mess up.

WE AREN’T PERFECT!

Life, motherhood and business are messy, chaotic and can feel like you are on a rollercoaster that never ends.

Sometimes it all seems hard and you hold on for dear life and try and control everything and everyone which only makes things work (like being on the rollercoaster the only thing you can control is yourself).

Then sometimes it all seems easy and fun which is when you let go of the safety bars and surrender to wherever you are being taken.

It is this duality, the challenges and experiences, the ups and downs that we have that make us stronger, wiser; more resilient as well as making us more grateful.

So I created the MM as I wanted you, women around the world to know that you aren’t alone and never will be. I am here for you, my beautiful community. As is each woman who is journeying with us.

I am here to support you, educate you and empower you through the best way I know how – The Mumpreneur Movement Magazine that shares real-life stories & expert advice from authentic women (& from a man or two) who understand you and where you are at.

This is who the Mumpreneur Movement is and I am so proud of the contributors who show up for each issue and share authentically, openly and loving for all of us to gain from.

Together we can thrive if we are willing to support each other.

So much love,

Going from a Hobby to Business

Going from a Hobby to Business

What we do in our spare time can say a lot about who we are as a person. Having a hobby or multiple hobbies is not only good for your health but it can also be beneficial for your social well being and in some cases it can also turn into a financial benefit for you as well.

There are a lot of hobbies out there that over time can become a financial gain for you. Whether you are making a product, using skills you have collected during your hobby to sell a service or simply turning your love of doing something into a financial gain – you are on your way to beginning a business.

So when do you go from a hobby to a business? How do you know it will be a good move?

How do you know it is will be successful and worth wild?

Where do I start?

This is the first step of turning your hobby into a business. First you need to determine if your hobby is something that is in demand and that will have a monetary benefit for you if you turn it into a business. Look at your hobby and see whether it is something that you would be able to make money off. Do you create a product that is sellable? Have you learned skills that you can sell within a service space.

After determining whether or not you can make money off your hobby, the next step is to decide if you want to.

How do I know if I should do it?

This is a question only you can answer. You need to decide if running a business is something that you really want to do. Whether you have the drive and strength to start a business and run it from the ground up. You then need to decide if you want to turn your hobby into that business. A hobby is something that we do for fun, to create a bit of down time for ourselves and give us a break from our every day lives. Will you still be happy doing your hobby if you are doing it for business over pleasure? It means that the drive behind your hobby will change. It will become a lot more professional and you will be creating the products or providing the services for business and not pleasure.

Is it a good idea?

This again is only a question you can answer. You need to do your research before jumping in and starting the business. Find out if there is a demand for what you are offering. Is there a market saturated with the same products or services already? Are you in a position where you will make money from the business.

Starting a business can also take a financial toll on you, so this is another factor you need to think about before turning your hobby into a business. Do you have the back up funds to purchase enough stock to start the business. Do you have a means of selling it and marketing it.

What are the benefits of starting from a hobby?

The benefits of starting your business from a hobby include the fact that you already know what you are doing for a large part. You may not know the ins and outs of running a business but you know how to create your product. You know how to make it look good and you know how much time and money goes into creating it. This is a great leg in to running a business. You are already familiar with the product and essentially just need to find a mean in which to sell it.

Starting your journey as a business owner from a hobby is a great way to start. It is something that you know how to create, something you enjoy creating and something that you think others would want a chance to be a part of. If you are unsure on whether or not to turn your hobby into a business, don’t rush into anything. Take your time to decide if it is a step that you would like to take and if it turns out it is – than go for it!

Invest in yourself and your business to grow your income

Invest in yourself and your business to grow your income

m=”1″ admin_label=”section” _builder_version=”3.22″]

When it comes to running a business there are many things that we strive for and aim towards as goals. One of the main ones is to create a high income from the business. Really, making money is one of the main reasons that a person goes into business. However in order to grow your income you need to do more than just sell a product or provide a service. Growing your income can take time and one of the most important things you can do to help with this process is investing.

I am not talking about investing large amounts of money into the business (although in some circumstances this can help a lot). I am talking about investing in yourself and investing in your business.

What does it mean to invest in yourself?

Investing in yourself is the first step towards a successful business. When you invest in something, you expect a return from that investment right? Well the same system applies when you invest in yourself. If you are investing in yourself it means that you are going to expect a successful return from yourself. It helps to push you past your boundaries and make things happen.

When investing in yourself it means that you are putting a wager on yourself. You are giving yourself a reason to push forward and to create success.

How do I invest in myself?

There are a number of different ways in which you can invest in yourself and help you to create success within yourself and your business. You can use your spare time to read books or blogs or listen to podcasts that are going to help you within your business. A way to learn new aspects of business  that you can then take back into your own business and use them. The same goes with going to events or listening to speaker who can assist with growing your business.

Your knowledge of wealth will not only help to grow you as a person but it will also help to grow your business and to grow your income.

Another way to invest in yourself is by investing in your future, whether it is by opening up a savings account or term deposit or by signing up for a course or a degree. By doing either of these you are looking into your future and looking for a way to be able to set yourself up in the future.

Other ways that you can invest in yourself is by hiring a business coach to help you to work out your goals and how to achieve them, investing your time into focusing on your health and well being or by simply giving yourself a break from the business stress and concerns for a few days so that you can relax and come back fresh.

How does this help to grow the income of my business?

Investing in yourself helps to grow the income of your business because it is helping to grow the person behind the business. Without you, there would be no business and then there would be income.

Investing in yourself shows that you are confident and driven to make the business work. You are investing not only your money but your time into growing yourself and in turn growing your business.

If you are in a more positive mindset, confident about the things you are doing, confident about the plans forward for the business and in an overall relaxed and focused mindset you are more likely to want to spend time within the business and push yourself to create a positive flow from it.

When you hear the word invest, chances are the first thing you think of is money. From now on when you hear the word invest look past the financial side of the world and think about how you can invest yourself in order to make something happen.

The power of a strong willed business owner can be a lot stronger than a large cheque of money.

Invest in yourself and see the effects take place in and around you and your business.
