It is every mother’s responsibility to love herself and to model this self-love to her children.

It is the foundation of healthy living.

This is the responsibility that the collective feminine is currently struggling to meet.

They feel like this because it would mean putting ourselves first in a society that says it is selfish to make yourself priority 1.

I am here to help women disconnect from this untrue and unhealthy belief system that modern society is desperate for them to retain (because entire economies are built on this belief system).

It’s time to see the lies and falsehoods that the media you are consuming is showing you.

I am here to tell you – You ARE ALREADY enough and it is time to come home to yourself.

It is safe to come home to yourself!

It is essential that you do, for the sake of your children, their capacity to love themselves and our ability to change the world by reclaiming our power of choice.’
You don’t need to try and change the world or anyone else for that matter, it’s about you being the change you want to see in others and modeling to give the space for others to do so.

It’s time to look at your environment and to see what it is that you are allowing yourself to consume in all areas of your life, energy, images, words, from social media, people around you even the lifestyle that you live.

Are you ready to join the movement? Are you ready to be a rebel and stand up for yourself and say enough, I no longer conform to this way of living anymore? I choose love, I choose happiness, I choose ME!

It’s time to drop this mask that we have used to be something we are not and find the beauty in who we truly are!

Hello, beautiful ones, it’s Tammie Pike. And what I would like to share with you today is the journey of motherhood and how anxiety is part of today’s motherhood.

Being a mum, we have anxiety about being not good enough. We have anxiety about not raising our kids well enough. We have anxiety about what happens to work, what would happen to our kids you know we have this mindset that is really fine-tuned on fear, not being good enough, not worthy enough. All that kind of stuff. And this can lead to us everyday living in a world where we feel unloved, unworthy we feel so freaking fearful of everything. And we feel that we aren’t good enough in what we’re doing already.

So, what I want to share with you is that I experienced anxiety so much of my life and it wasn’t until I had my youngest daughter, Brookie. She was really unwell as a baby and I lived in fear every single day that I was going to lose her. I’d wake up a mess going, how is she, what is she doing, all that kind of stuff.

I was crying all the time but I hide this from everyone. And anyone who is suffering from some sort of an emotional or mental disorder knows how well to fake it. And this is a thing we have to start taking steps for ourselves to start finding ways out of this space, out of being in this really dark area of staying in a shadow side.

The thing is fear is a door and we have a choice to choose, sometimes it feels so overwhelming because the volume is tense so fired up that we can’t hear anything else. So, we’ve got to have tools. We have tools and tool kit and as soon as we start freaking out, “What is some of the things that can help you through this?”.

For me, my number one tip is to go outside, take your shoes off and ground yourself in. And imagine that you have roots coming at the bottom of your feet. And that going down into mother earth and allowing her energy to mingle with your own and being held by that energy. Now might sound weird to some of you but anyone who knows about grounding, and that it has been scientifically proven to actually work.

It will help calm you down it will help release good endorphins within your body. And it’ll help you calm your nervous system because as soon as we’re in that anxiety mode, what happens is it drains all stuff reaping right up and we are not functioning correctly whatsoever. And it’s like we’re in that flight mode, if we’re gonna be chased or heard was something like that that’s the same kind of feeling we’d get when we’re experiencing anxiety.

So, what I invite you to do is to have this in your toolkit. Write it up somewhere or write it everywhere or even put it on your phone as an alarm. For every ten, twenty, thirty minutes, every hour. Go outside and grind because this will help relax you. It will help calm your body and nervous system down.

The second thing that I used to use a lot was essential oils. Aromatherapy is amazing. So, lemon oil, go and research the benefits of lemon oil. Actually, is the only smell that calms and can actually create a chemical reaction within your brain, to release those really you know feel-good emotions. I used to sit down to put a couple of drops on a tissue put it in my hand, cup it. And do like a slow breathing meditation and it really calms me down and helps me find more positivity within myself, and in my circumstances in the environment.

The third thing is that you can start looking into heart coherence. It is a beautiful meditation to help you get into your heart, rather than being focused on your thoughts. There are so many tools but whatever grabs your attention now within this video I invite you to go and explore that because this is what your body is calling for you to find out and find more back.

So, this is also a doing your gratitude when we in the space of anxiety, anger, depression all that kind of stuff we can’t see the positivity in our life, but what we do if we actually take a moment to check in and to truly see what we can be grateful for. Is it a roof of your head? Is it you’re bed? Is it you know that your body can move and help you explore this world. You know what is it? That you’re breathing do you have health, do you have a family? Think about as many many things that you can because this will help recalibrate your mindset and help dim down those negative thoughts.

So, these are just some of the tools I can help you and have helped me with my anxiety so I’m sending you all so much love and there’s one more tip that I have to share. And that is for you to go and find someone you can speak to. If you experiencing anxiety do not go through this alone.
I went through alone most of my life and especially when I was having panic attacks and a lot kind of things. I was experiencing this by myself because I could not think that I was lessened, I would not let anyone see underneath the covers of how badly I was truly. Truly not coping with how useless I felt, how worthless I felt because I couldn’t be the mom, the wife to everything, to everyone I thought I was.
So as soon we let down these guts we stop this high expectation and anxiety starts to lessen. As a mum, it’s not your world to be everything for everyone. You do not need to be a supermum. You need to make sure that you were looking after yourself and doing what you need.

So, I’m sending all so much love and wish I could wrap you all up in a big hug and know that you know it is a way for you to learn more about yourself. If you start practicing and cultivating self-love, which means choosing yourself every single day, which means doing something good for yourself every single day. You will see, your last starting out to improve. You start seeking that feeling more and more more. So, I sending you so much love and know you can do this beautiful and you are not alone in this.

What is the Mumpreneur Movement about?

Many have asked me what is the Mumpreneur Movement about?

I always respond with it was created to support women to do life, motherhood and business differently.

It sounds pretty doesn’t it, but what does it really mean?

For me it means that I was so sick and tired of seeing fluffy content focused on this that didn’t really matter, content that eluded that I wasn’t pretty, fit and wrinkle-free enough, that I must be failing because my business wasn’t automated, making millions of dollars; of have hundreds and thousands of followers.

I also felt that there was such a disconnect between what a mum really is and how it’s portrayed in today’s society, especially on social media.

Just take a scroll on Instagram you can see thousands of influencer mums looking stylish and put together as do their children. Their house looks immaculate and they seem to have a perfect life.

Though it’s not real, yes some of it is but we don’t get to see behind the scenes, you know the real stuff like trying to juggle being a mum and being a boss whilst never having enough energy to make love to your partner (or with yourself, I don’t’ judge). That you can’t always take a perfect selfie, and yes it’s normal for kids to argue and fight amongst themselves as it is for us to mess up.

WE AREN’T PERFECT! 

Life, motherhood and business are messy, chaotic and can feel like you are on a rollercoaster that never ends.

Sometimes it all seems hard and you hold on for dear life and try and control everything and everyone which only makes things work (like being on the rollercoaster the only thing you can control is yourself).

Then sometimes it all seems easy and fun which is when you let go of the safety bars and surrender to wherever you are being taken.

It is this duality, the challenges and experiences, the ups and downs that we have that make us stronger, wiser; more resilient as well as making us more grateful.

So I created the MM as I wanted you, women around the world to know that you aren’t alone and never will be. I am here for you, my beautiful community. As is each woman who is journeying with us.

I am here to support you, educate you and empower you through the best way I know how – The Mumpreneur Movement Magazine that shares real-life stories & expert advice from authentic women (& from a man or two) who understand you and where you are at.

So you have taken the step and started your own business. How exciting! I bet you are feeling a rush of different emotions right now. There is probably so much going on in your life. You are not only running a business but also running a household as well – superwoman right there!.

Have you ever heard the saying ‘there aren’t enough hours in a day’? This is a saying that rings true for Mumpreneurs all over the world. There just simply is not enough hours in the day to get everything done on your lists. Even though you have started your own business and have started it with the mindset that you will get more time at home with your family – it doesn’t always work out like this from the beginning. There will be times when it seems like you are giving all your attention to the business or the opposite and not giving the business the time it needs to become successful. You may start to feel like you are letting your family down because you are spending too much time trying to make the business successful.

This is where finding a work life balance is important. It is not only important for your business, but it is also important for your family. And most importantly it is important for your own mental and physical well being.

What is work life balance?

A work life balance is finding a way to be able to comfortably complete the different tasks that you have on hand. A way to be able to stop juggling the business and your family and start balancing them. A healthy work life balance is important as it ensure that you are giving the right time and energy to the right area during the scheduled time. It also means that you are putting yourself in a more stable and comfortable environment which will impact your mental and physical wellbeing.

A work life balance does not mean that you have to spend equal amounts of time on each part of your life. It simply means that you need to find a balance that gives all aspects of your life the time that they need and deserve. One part of your life may require more time and attention than another part. This does not mean it is unbalanced, it means you are balancing it properly.

How do I achieve it?

Achieving a work life balance can take a little bit of time to master in the beginning, especially if you are in the start up phase of your business. Take an afternoon on your own where you can be left alone and peaceful. During this time write out the different aspects of the business and the aspects of your life and list each aspect in its importance and how much it means to you.

Knowing all the things you have to do and having it all laid out on the table will help you to start creating your balancing plan. Having a balance between your work and life means that you are able to focus on the right areas of your life at the right time.

Why is it important?

A work life balance is important for a number of reasons. It helps to create an environment in your mind where you are focused and reduce the stress that you may be feeling. It helps with the drive of the business, because you know when you are going to be working on the business and you know that you have X amount of time to complete a certain task.

It is important for your personal life as it helps to give you back your own time. It provides you with time to spend with your family without having the business stress looming in the back of your mind.

Having a work life balance will help with your overall mental and emotional health and help to reduce stress and anxiety surrounding the number of things that you need to do.

Finding balance is important and something that every business owner should strive to do. It is not only important for you, but it is also important for your business and those around you. Id the people you spend time with can see that you are stressed and not able to give them your full attention then it can start to affect your relationships.

So take the time to look at your balance and how you can achieve it.

What we do in our spare time can say a lot about who we are as a person. Having a hobby or multiple hobbies is not only good for your health but it can also be beneficial for your social well being and in some cases it can also turn into a financial benefit for you as well. 

There are a lot of hobbies out there that over time can become a financial gain for you. Whether you are making a product, using skills you have collected during your hobby to sell a service or simply turning your love of doing something into a financial gain – you are on your way to beginning a business.

So when do you go from a hobby to a business? How do you know it will be a good move?

How do you know it is will be successful and worth wild?

Where do I start?

This is the first step of turning your hobby into a business. First you need to determine if your hobby is something that is in demand and that will have a monetary benefit for you if you turn it into a business. Look at your hobby and see whether it is something that you would be able to make money off. Do you create a product that is sellable? Have you learned skills that you can sell within a service space. 

After determining whether or not you can make money off your hobby, the next step is to decide if you want to.

How do I know if I should do it?

This is a question only you can answer. You need to decide if running a business is something that you really want to do. Whether you have the drive and strength to start a business and run it from the ground up. You then need to decide if you want to turn your hobby into that business. A hobby is something that we do for fun, to create a bit of down time for ourselves and give us a break from our every day lives. Will you still be happy doing your hobby if you are doing it for business over pleasure? It means that the drive behind your hobby will change. It will become a lot more professional and you will be creating the products or providing the services for business and not pleasure. 

Is it a good idea?

This again is only a question you can answer. You need to do your research before jumping in and starting the business. Find out if there is a demand for what you are offering. Is there a market saturated with the same products or services already? Are you in a position where you will make money from the business. 

Starting a business can also take a financial toll on you, so this is another factor you need to think about before turning your hobby into a business. Do you have the back up funds to purchase enough stock to start the business. Do you have a means of selling it and marketing it.

What are the benefits of starting from a hobby?

The benefits of starting your business from a hobby include the fact that you already know what you are doing for a large part. You may not know the ins and outs of running a business but you know how to create your product. You know how to make it look good and you know how much time and money goes into creating it. This is a great leg in to running a business. You are already familiar with the product and essentially just need to find a mean in which to sell it. 

Starting your journey as a business owner from a hobby is a great way to start. It is something that you know how to create, something you enjoy creating and something that you think others would want a chance to be a part of. If you are unsure on whether or not to turn your hobby into a business, don’t rush into anything. Take your time to decide if it is a step that you would like to take and if it turns out it is – than go for it!
